To get a more comprehensive picture of First Nations health and disadvantage, this dataset should be looked at in conjunction with Need for Assistance, Income, Education and Age Groups.

Dominant groups
Analysis of the long term health conditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander in Mornington Peninsula Shire in 2021 compared to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Greater Melbourne shows that there was a lower proportion of people with a long-term health condition: 37.8% compared to 40.0% in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people .
The major differences in the long term health conditions between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Mornington Peninsula Shire and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Greater Melbourne are:
- A smaller percentage with Mental health condition (17.0% compared to 18.6%)
- A smaller percentage with Asthma (14.7% compared to 15.9%)
