In Scarborough, 63% of households were purchasing or fully owned their home, 24.2% were renting privately, and 4.0% were in social housing in 2021.

Analysis of the housing tenure of households of Scarborough in 2021 compared to City of Moreton Bay shows that there was a larger proportion of households who owned their dwelling; a smaller proportion purchasing their dwelling; and a smaller proportion who were renters.
Overall, 37.3% of households owned their dwelling; 25.6% were purchasing, and 28.4% were renting, compared with 27.2%, 36.5% and 30.2% respectively for City of Moreton Bay.
