There were more male professionals in Travancore in 2021 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Travancore in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (251 males or 36.8%)
  • Managers (93 males or 13.6%)
  • Technicians and Trades Workers (73 males or 10.7%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 417 males in total or 61.1% of the employed male resident population.

In comparison, Aberfeldie (N) employed 25.6% in Professionals; 25.1% in Managers; and 14.5% in Technicians and Trades Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Travancore and Aberfeldie (N) were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed as Professionals (36.8% compared to 25.6%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (9.5% compared to 4.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed as Managers (13.6% compared to 25.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (10.7% compared to 14.5%)

The number of employed males in Travancore increased by 429 between 2006 and 2021.

The largest changes in the occupations of male residents between 2006 and 2021 in Travancore were for those employed as:

  • Professionals (+156 males)
  • Managers (+59 males)
