Analysis of the car ownership of the households in the City of Moonee Valley in 2021 compared to Greater Melbourne shows that 86.2% of the households owned at least one car, while 9.5% did not, compared with 87.0% and 8.2% respectively in Greater Melbourne.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion who owned just one car; a smaller proportion who owned two cars; and a smaller proportion who owned three cars or more.
Overall, 40.0% of the households owned one car; 32.9% owned two cars; and 13.3% owned three cars or more, compared with 35.6%; 35.1% and 16.3% respectively for Greater Melbourne.
