Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City of Melville in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (7,860 people or 15.2%)
  • Education and Training (5,937 people or 11.5%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (5,356 people or 10.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 19,153 people in total or 37.0% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Greater Perth employed 14.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.8% in Education and Training; and 7.8% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.
