Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Ringwood in 2016 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,186 people or 14.0%)
  • Retail Trade (917 people or 10.8%)
  • Education and Training (791 people or 9.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,894 people in total or 34.0% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Ringwood Metropolitan Activity Centre employed 15.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.6% in Retail Trade; and 7.1% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Ringwood and Ringwood Metropolitan Activity Centre were:
