Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Croydon in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,751 females or 25.0%)
  • Education and Training (993 females or 14.2%)
  • Retail Trade (767 females or 10.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 3,511 females in total or 50.1% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Croydon South employed 24.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 14.8% in Education and Training; and 11.1% in Retail Trade.

The major difference between the jobs held by the female population of Croydon and Croydon South was:

  • A smaller percentage of females employed in manufacturing (4.8% compared to 6.1%)
