Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in City of Maribyrnong in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (7,132 males or 29.4%)
  • Managers (3,866 males or 16.0%)
  • Technicians and Trades Workers (3,360 males or 13.9%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 14,358 males in total or 59.3% of the employed male resident population.

In comparison, Greater Melbourne employed 23.6% in Professionals; 16.1% in Managers; and 19.3% in Technicians and Trades Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of the City of Maribyrnong and Greater Melbourne were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed as Professionals (29.4% compared to 23.6%)
