The size of the City of Maribyrnong's labour force in 2021 was 49,908, of which 14,662 were employed part-time and 29,250 were full time workers.
Analysis of the employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) in the City of Maribyrnong in 2021 compared to Yarraville Ward shows that there was a lower proportion in employment, and a higher proportion unemployed. Overall, 94.3% of the labour force was employed, and 5.7% unemployed, compared with 95.3% and 4.7% respectively for Yarraville Ward.
Analysis of the labour force participation rate of the population in the City of Maribyrnong in 2021 shows that there was a lower proportion in the labour force (69.4%) compared with Yarraville Ward (72.9%).
