Dominant groups

Analysis of the share of the female population attending educational institutions in the City of Maribyrnong in 2021 compared to North Precinct shows that there was a higher proportion attending primary school, a lower proportion attending secondary school, and a lower proportion engaged in tertiary level education.

Overall, 6.3% of the female population were attending primary school, 4.6% of the female population were attending secondary institutions, and 10.5% were learning at a tertiary level, compared with 5.2%, 5.2% and 11.2% respectively for North Precinct.

The major differences between the share of the female population attending learning institutions in the City of Maribyrnong and North Precinct were:

  • A larger percentage of females attending a Government primary school (4.6% compared to 2.8%)
  • A larger percentage of females attending a primary school (any type) (6.3% compared to 5.2%)
