Dominant groups

In 2021, there were 18,677 separate houses in the area, 13,263 medium density dwellings, and 8,157 high density dwellings.

Analysis of the types of dwellings in the City of Maribyrnong in 2021 shows that 46.2% of all dwellings were separate houses; 32.8% were medium density dwellings, and 20.2% were in high density dwellings, compared with 27.2%, 27.3%, and 44.5% in the Footscray respectively.
