Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the Chinese languages speaking resident population in City of Manningham in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (4,436 people or 33.4%)
- Managers (2,147 people or 16.2%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (1,722 people or 13.0%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 8,305 people in total or 62.5% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, Greater Melbourne employed 33.1% in Professionals; 13.5% in Managers; and 11.8% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the Chinese languages speaking population of the City of Manningham and Greater Melbourne were:
- A larger percentage of people employed as Managers (16.2% compared to 13.5%)
- A larger percentage of people employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (13.0% compared to 11.8%)
- A smaller percentage of people employed as Labourers (5.5% compared to 7.6%)
