Dominant groups

Analysis of the car ownership of Persian/Dari speakers in Manningham City Council in 2021 compared to City of Boroondara shows that 95.6% were in households that owned at least one car, while 2.9% did not, compared with 93.1% and 5.2% respectively in City of Boroondara.

Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a smaller proportion owned just one car; a smaller proportion owned two cars; and a larger proportion that owned three cars or more.

Overall, 29.6% of Persian/Dari speakers were in households that owned one car; 47.2% owned two cars; and 18.8% owned three cars or more, compared with 34.9%, 47.8% and 10.4% respectively for City of Boroondara.

The largest changes in the household car ownership for Persian/Dari speakers in Manningham City Council between 2016 and 2021 were:
