An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Gisborne in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (1,345 people or 24.3%)
- Technicians and Trades Workers (876 people or 15.8%)
- Managers (802 people or 14.5%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 3,023 people in total or 54.5% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, Romsey employed 15.9% in Professionals; 20.4% in Technicians and Trades Workers; and 9.9% in Managers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Gisborne and Romsey were:
