Analysis of the household/family types in Macedon and Mount Macedon District in 2021 compared to the Romsey District shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 36.6% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 6.5% were one-parent families, compared with 37.4% and 9.1% respectively for the Romsey District.
There were a similar proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 16.4% compared to 16.4% in the Romsey District while the proportion of couples without children was 32.6% compared to 30.6% in the Romsey District.
