An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Tanah Merah in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (415 people or 17.1%)
- Technicians and Trades Workers (383 people or 15.8%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (349 people or 14.4%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 1,147 people in total or 47.4% of the employed resident population.
