More Division 12 female residents worked in health care and social assistance than any other industry in 2021.

Division 12's industry statistics identify the industry sectors in which the residents work (which may be within the residing area or elsewhere). This will be influenced by the skill base and socio-economic status of the residents as well as the industries and employment opportunities present in the region.

When viewed in conjunction with Residents Place of Work data and Method of Travel to Work, industry sector statistics provide insights into the relationship between the economic and residential role of the area.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Division 12 in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,168 females or 24.1%)
  • Retail Trade (610 females or 12.6%)
  • Education and Training (554 females or 11.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,332 females in total or 48.1% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Logan City employed 23.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.0% in Retail Trade; and 12.3% in Education and Training.

The major difference between the jobs held by the female population of Division 12 and Logan City was:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (8.1% compared to 7.0%)

Emerging groups

The number of employed females in Division 12 increased by 439 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest changes in the jobs held by the female resident population between 2016 and 2021 in Division 12 were for those employed in:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (+183 females)
  • Retail Trade (-82 females)
  • Education and Training (+71 females)
