Dominant groups
Analysis of the family blending in New Beith and District in 2021 compared to Division 4 shows that there was a lower proportion of step families as well as a lower proportion of blended families. Overall, 8.4% of total couple families with children were step families, and 5.0% were blended families, compared with 12.3% and 8.4% respectively for Division 4.
There were a similar proportion of other families and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of other families was 0.5% compared to 0.5% in Division 4 while the proportion of intact families was 86.2% compared to 78.8% in Division 4.
