Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Lithgow City in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,054 people or 12.7%)
  • Public Administration and Safety (843 people or 10.1%)
  • Retail Trade (747 people or 9.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,644 people in total or 31.8% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Regional NSW employed 16.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 7.2% in Public Administration and Safety; and 9.4% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Lithgow City and Regional NSW were:
