Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Lismore City in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (4,294 people or 21.4%)
  • Retail Trade (2,285 people or 11.4%)
  • Education and Training (2,206 people or 11.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 8,785 people in total or 43.8% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, New South Wales employed 14.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.0% in Retail Trade; and 8.7% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Lismore City and New South Wales were:
