Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Urban Lismore in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,852 people or 23.2%)
  • Retail Trade (1,534 people or 12.5%)
  • Education and Training (1,315 people or 10.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 5,701 people in total or 46.4% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Richmond Hill - Lindendale and District employed 20.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.6% in Retail Trade; and 12.9% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Urban Lismore and Richmond Hill - Lindendale and District were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in accommodation and food services (7.5% compared to 3.7%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in retail trade (12.5% compared to 9.6%)
