Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Invermay in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (280 people or 18.4%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (184 people or 12.1%)
  • Retail Trade (176 people or 11.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 640 people in total or 42.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Regional TAS employed 16.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 7.5% in Accommodation and Food Services; and 9.8% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Invermay and Regional TAS were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in accommodation and food services (12.1% compared to 7.5%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (18.4% compared to 16.0%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in retail trade (11.6% compared to 9.8%)
