Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Newnham in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (499 people or 15.9%)
  • Retail Trade (381 people or 12.1%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (299 people or 9.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,179 people in total or 37.5% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Mowbray employed 18.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.4% in Retail Trade; and 11.0% in Accommodation and Food Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Newnham and Mowbray were:
