Dominant groups
Analysis of the ancestry responses of the population in Rural East - Lilydale in 2016 shows that the top five ancestries nominated were:
- Australian (1,248 people or 45.2%)
- English (1,188 people or 43.1%)
- Irish (288 people or 10.5%)
- Scottish (286 people or 10.4%)
