Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in East Killara in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (241 people or 19.0%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (168 people or 13.2%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (156 people or 12.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 565 people in total or 44.5% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, NSROC Region employed 16.7% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 13.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 10.6% in Financial and Insurance Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of East Killara and NSROC Region were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (19.0% compared to 16.7%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in financial and insurance services (12.3% compared to 10.6%)
