Dominant groups
Analysis of the qualifications of recent overseas arrivals in the City of Knox in 2021 compared to Eastern Metropolitan Region shows that there was a similar proportion of people holding formal qualifications (Bachelor or higher degree; Advanced Diploma or Diploma; or Vocational qualifications), as well as a similar proportion of people with no formal qualifications.
Overall, 65.7% of recent overseas arrivals aged 15 and over held educational qualifications, and 31.2% had no qualifications, compared with 65.5% and 30.9% respectively for Eastern Metropolitan Region.
The major differences between qualifications held by the recent overseas arriving population of the City of Knox and Eastern Metropolitan Region were:
- A larger percentage of people with Vocational qualifications (5.8% compared to 4.5%)
- A smaller percentage of people with Bachelor or Higher degrees (49.7% compared to 51.6%)
