Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of people in the City of Kalamunda compared to The Escarpment shows that there was a similar proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 5.0% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 4.9% for The Escarpment.

The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in South East Ward and The Escarpment were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 85 and over (48.5% compared to 38.6%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 80 to 84 (23.2% compared to 18.8%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 75 to 79 (13.0% compared to 10.1%)
