Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Hillarys in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Managers (753 males or 25.2%)
  • Professionals (724 males or 24.2%)
  • Technicians and Trades Workers (587 males or 19.6%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 2,064 males in total or 68.9% of the employed male resident population.

In comparison, the City of Joondalup employed 17.5% in Managers; 21.0% in Professionals; and 25.1% in Technicians and Trades Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Hillarys and the City of Joondalup were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed as Managers (25.2% compared to 17.5%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed as Professionals (24.2% compared to 21.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (19.6% compared to 25.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (4.8% compared to 7.4%)

The number of employed males in Hillarys increased by 101 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest changes in the occupations of male residents between 2016 and 2021 in Hillarys were for those employed as:
