Dominant groups

Analysis of the male five year age groups of the City of Joondalup in 2021 compared to Hillarys shows that there was a higher proportion of males in the younger age groups (under 15) and a lower proportion of males in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 20.1% of the male population was aged between 0 and 15, and 17.1% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 18.8% and 19.0% respectively for Hillarys.

The major differences between the male age structure of the City of Joondalup and Hillarys were:

  • A larger percentage of males aged 35 to 39 (6.5% compared to 4.7%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 0 to 4 (5.8% compared to 4.3%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 30 to 34 (5.3% compared to 3.8%)
