Dominant groups
Analysis of the need for assistance of females in the City of Joondalup compared to Ocean Reef shows that there was a similar proportion of females who reported needing assistance with core activities.
Overall, 3.5% of the female population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 3.7% for Ocean Reef.
The major differences in the female age groups reporting a need for assistance in South-West Ward and Ocean Reef were:
- A smaller percentage of females aged 75 to 79 (8.9% compared to 15.0%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 85 and over (41.3% compared to 45.8%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 80 to 84 (22.1% compared to 24.0%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 70 to 74 (4.0% compared to 5.8%)
