Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Stanmore in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (798 people or 17.6%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (585 people or 12.9%)
  • Education and Training (536 people or 11.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,919 people in total or 42.4% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Lewisham employed 17.8% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 12.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 10.7% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Stanmore and Lewisham were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in accommodation and food services (5.8% compared to 4.5%)
