Occupation of employment

There were more male professionals in NSROC Region in 2021 than any other occupation.

This will be influenced by the economic base and employment opportunities available in the area, education levels, and the working and social aspirations of the population. Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in NSROC Region in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (63,454 males or 39.1%)
  • Managers (37,466 males or 23.1%)
  • Technicians and Trades Workers (17,161 males or 10.6%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 118,081 males in total or 72.7% of the employed male resident population.

In comparison, Hornsby Heights employed 31.5% in Professionals; 21.2% in Managers; and 17.9% in Technicians and Trades Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of NSROC Region and Hornsby Heights were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed as Professionals (39.1% compared to 31.5%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed as Managers (23.1% compared to 21.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (10.6% compared to 17.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (3.1% compared to 4.7%)

  • Sales Workers (-695 males)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (-647 males)
