Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Hornsby in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (913 males or 15.5%)
  • Retail Trade (543 males or 9.2%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (516 males or 8.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,972 males in total or 33.5% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Hornsby Shire employed 15.9% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 7.3% in Retail Trade; and 9.0% in Financial and Insurance Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Hornsby and Hornsby Shire were:
