Analysis of the household/family types in Hornsby in 2021 compared to North Sydney Council area shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 33.1% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 9.9% were one-parent families, compared with 18.0% and 6.1% respectively for North Sydney Council area.
There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 25.7% compared to 37.0% in North Sydney Council area while the proportion of couples without children was 23.3% compared to 28.9% in North Sydney Council area.
