Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Hilltops Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (1,576 people or 19.6%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (973 people or 12.1%)
  • Retail Trade (785 people or 9.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 3,334 people in total or 41.5% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Regional NSW employed 5.1% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 16.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 9.4% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Hilltops Council area and Regional NSW were:
