Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Central West in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (128 males or 28.4%)
  • Construction (65 males or 14.4%)
  • Manufacturing (43 males or 9.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 236 males in total or 52.3% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Golden Plains Shire employed 8.1% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 23.8% in Construction; and 10.9% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Central West and Golden Plains Shire were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (28.4% compared to 8.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in construction (14.4% compared to 23.8%)
