Dominant groups

Analysis of the female service age groups of Division 14 in 2021 compared to Division 10 shows that there was a higher proportion of females in the younger age groups (0 to 17 years) and a lower proportion of females in the older age groups (60+ years).

Overall, 18.6% of the female population was aged between 0 and 17, and 28.1% were aged 60 years and over, compared with 11.4% and 29.5% respectively for Division 10.

The major differences between the female age structure of Division 14 and Division 10 were:

  • A larger percentage of 'Primary schoolers' (7.7% compared to 4.3%)
  • A larger percentage of 'Secondary schoolers' (6.3% compared to 4.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of 'Young workforce' (12.8% compared to 17.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of 'Seniors' (11.3% compared to 14.0%)

Emerging groups

From 2016 to 2021, Division 14's female population increased by 1,671 people (9.5%). This represents an average annual population change of 1.83% per year over the period.

The largest changes in the female age structure in this area between 2016 and 2021 were in the age groups:

  • Young workforce (25 to 34) (+410 females)
  • Parents and homebuilders (35 to 49) (+369 females)
  • Empty nesters and retirees (60 to 69) (+335 females)
  • Seniors (70 to 84) (+277 females)
