Analysis of the qualifications of the population in Division 08 in 2021 compared to Runaway Bay shows that there was a higher proportion of people holding formal qualifications (Bachelor or higher degree; Advanced Diploma or Diploma; or Vocational qualifications), and a lower proportion of people with no formal qualifications.
Overall, 54.9% of the population aged 15 and over held educational qualifications, and 36.2% had no qualifications, compared with 52.5% and 38.3% respectively for Runaway Bay.
The major differences between qualifications held by the population of Division 08 and Runaway Bay were:
- A larger percentage of persons with Bachelor or Higher degrees (22.6% compared to 19.1%)
- A smaller percentage of persons with No qualifications (36.2% compared to 38.3%)
- A smaller percentage of persons with Vocational qualifications (20.7% compared to 21.8%)

The largest changes in the qualifications of the population in Division 08 between 2016 and 2021 were in those with:
- Bachelor or Higher degrees (+2,276 persons)
- Advanced Diploma or Diplomas (+685 persons)
- No qualifications (-525 persons)
- Vocational qualifications (+416 persons)
