Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Gold Coast City in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Technicians and Trades Workers (36,387 males or 23.8%)
  • Professionals (25,720 males or 16.8%)
  • Managers (23,631 males or 15.5%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 85,738 males in total or 56.1% of the employed male resident population.

In comparison, South East Queensland employed 21.3% in Technicians and Trades Workers; 20.1% in Professionals; and 14.9% in Managers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Gold Coast City and South East Queensland were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (23.8% compared to 21.3%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed as Sales Workers (8.2% compared to 6.9%)
