Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Elanora in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (987 people or 16.3%)
  • Construction (786 people or 13.0%)
  • Retail Trade (652 people or 10.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,425 people in total or 40.0% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Gold Coast City employed 15.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.4% in Construction; and 10.4% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Elanora and Gold Coast City were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in education and training (9.9% compared to 8.3%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (13.0% compared to 11.4%)
