Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Division 06 in 2021 compared to Carrara shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 16.0% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 11.2% were one-parent families, compared with 26.9% and 12.1% respectively for Carrara.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 31.4% compared to 23.9% in Carrara while the proportion of couples without children was 23.9% compared to 28.4% in Carrara.

Emerging groups

The number of households in Division 06 increased by 5,849 between 2006 and 2021.

The largest changes in family/household types in Division 06 between 2006 and 2021 were:

  • Lone person (+2,096 households)
  • Couples without children (+1,397 households)
  • Couples with children (+723 households)
  • Group household (+694 households)
