Dominant groups
Analysis of the female five year age groups of Division 01 in 2021 compared to Gold Coast City shows that there was a higher proportion of females in the younger age groups (under 15) and a lower proportion of females in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 24.5% of the female population was aged between 0 and 15, and 9.5% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 16.6% and 18.4% respectively for Gold Coast City.
The major differences between the female age structure of Division 01 and Gold Coast City were:
- A larger percentage of females aged 0 to 4 (8.7% compared to 5.0%)
- A larger percentage of females aged 5 to 9 (8.2% compared to 5.7%)
- A larger percentage of females aged 30 to 34 (9.3% compared to 7.1%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 70 to 74 (2.9% compared to 5.0%)
Emerging groups
From 2016 to 2021, Division 01's female population increased by 9,919 people (57.2%). This represents an average annual population change of 9.47% per year over the period.
The largest changes in female age structure in this area between 2016 and 2021 were in the age groups:
- 30 to 34 (+1,081 females)
- 25 to 29 (+911 females)
- 35 to 39 (+873 females)
- 10 to 14 (+793 females)
