In 2021, the largest age group in Division 06 was 25 to 29 year olds. The group that changed the most since 2001 was 25 to 29 year olds, increasing by 2,120 people.

Dominant groups

Analysis of the five year age groups of Division 06 in 2021 compared to Varsity Lakes shows that there was a lower proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) and a higher proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 12.3% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 20.9% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 18.3% and 14.0% respectively for Varsity Lakes.

The major differences between the age structure of Division 06 and Varsity Lakes were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 25 to 29 (9.6% compared to 7.8%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 5 to 9 (3.9% compared to 6.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 10 to 14 (4.6% compared to 6.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 40 to 44 (5.8% compared to 7.5%)

Emerging groups

From 2001 to 2021, Division 06's population increased by 14,979 people (46.6%). This represents an average annual population change of 1.93% per year over the period.

The largest changes in age structure in this area between 2001 and 2021 were in the age groups:

  • 25 to 29 (+2,120 persons)
  • 20 to 24 (+2,024 persons)
  • 30 to 34 (+1,316 persons)
  • 70 to 74 (+980 persons)
