In 2021, the largest age group in Division 06 was 25 to 29 year olds. The group that changed the most since 2016 was 25 to 29 year olds, increasing by 991 people.

Dominant groups

Analysis of the five year age groups of Division 06 in 2021 compared to Upper Coomera (South) - Wongawallan shows that there was a lower proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) and a higher proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 12.4% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 20.1% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 25.1% and 9.7% respectively for Upper Coomera (South) - Wongawallan.

The major differences between the age structure of Division 06 and Upper Coomera (South) - Wongawallan were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 25 to 29 (9.7% compared to 4.6%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 20 to 24 (9.5% compared to 5.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 5 to 9 (4.0% compared to 9.1%)

From 2016 to 2021, Division 06's population increased by 4,806 people (11.6%). This represents an average annual population change of 2.21% per year over the period.

The largest changes in age structure in this area between 2016 and 2021 were in the age groups:

  • 30 to 34 (+586 persons)
  • 75 to 79 (+461 persons)
  • 80 to 84 (+424 persons)
