In 2021, the largest age group in Division 08 was 45 to 49 year olds. The group that changed the most since 2011 was 70 to 74 year olds, increasing by 1,044 people.

Dominant groups

Analysis of the five year age groups of Division 08 in 2021 compared to Robina - West shows that there was a higher proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) and a similar proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 16.7% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 21.9% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 14.6% and 21.6% respectively for Robina - West.

The major differences between the age structure of Division 08 and Robina - West were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 50 to 54 (6.7% compared to 5.4%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 10 to 14 (6.3% compared to 5.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 25 to 29 (5.4% compared to 7.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 20 to 24 (5.3% compared to 7.4%)

Emerging groups

From 2011 to 2021, Division 08's population increased by 5,632 people (15.6%). This represents an average annual population change of 1.46% per year over the period.

The largest changes in age structure in this area between 2011 and 2021 were in the age groups:

  • 70 to 74 (+1,044 persons)
  • 75 to 79 (+886 persons)
  • 65 to 69 (+549 persons)
  • 80 to 84 (+415 persons)
