Dominant groups
Analysis of the female five year age groups of Division 04 in 2021 compared to Coombabah shows that there was a lower proportion of females in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a lower proportion of females in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 11.6% of the female population was aged between 0 and 15, and 30.3% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 12.6% and 34.8% respectively for Coombabah.
The major differences between the female age structure of Division 04 and Coombabah were:
- A larger percentage of females aged 50 to 54 (6.9% compared to 5.3%)
- A larger percentage of females aged 55 to 59 (7.5% compared to 6.3%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 75 to 79 (6.1% compared to 7.8%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 80 to 84 (4.2% compared to 5.2%)
Emerging groups
From 2006 to 2021, Division 04's female population increased by 4,590 people (28.1%). This represents an average annual population change of 1.67% per year over the period.
The largest changes in female age structure in this area between 2006 and 2021 were in the age groups:
- 70 to 74 (+874 females)
- 65 to 69 (+643 females)
- 75 to 79 (+426 females)
- 60 to 64 (+372 females)
