Dominant groups
Analysis of the need for assistance of females in Georges River Council compared to Hurstville (total) shows that there was a higher proportion of females who reported needing assistance with core activities.
Overall, 6.0% of the female population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 5.1% for Hurstville (total).
The major differences in the female age groups reporting a need for assistance in St George Region and Hurstville (total) were:
- A larger percentage of females aged 85 and over (52.3% compared to 47.6%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 80 to 84 (36.1% compared to 42.6%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 75 to 79 (22.8% compared to 28.4%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 70 to 74 (14.0% compared to 17.0%)
Emerging groups
The major differences in the female age groups reporting a need for assistance between 2006 and 2021 in St George Region were in the age groups:
- 85 and over (+440 females)
- 20 to 59 (+415 females)
- 80 to 84 (+343 females)
- 65 to 69 (+328 females)
