Analysis of the household/family types in Barwon South West Region in 2021 compared to G21 Region shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a similar proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 26.5% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 9.9% were one-parent families, compared with 28.2% and 10.0% respectively for G21 Region.
There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a similar proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 26.7% compared to 25.4% in G21 Region while the proportion of couples without children was 27.5% compared to 27.2% in G21 Region.
