There were more female community and personal service workers in Torquay in 2021 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Torquay in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Community and Personal Service Workers (308 females or 27.4%)
  • Professionals (228 females or 20.2%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (188 females or 16.7%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 724 females in total or 64.3% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, Point Vernon employed 24.2% in Community and Personal Service Workers; 25.7% in Professionals; and 16.4% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Torquay and Point Vernon were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (27.4% compared to 24.2%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (4.6% compared to 2.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Professionals (20.2% compared to 25.7%)
