Analysis of the household/family types in the City of Bayswater in 2021 compared to the Town of Bassendean shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 26.4% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 9.5% were one-parent families, compared with 27.0% and 10.8% respectively for the Town of Bassendean.
There were a similar proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 28.9% compared to 28.7% in the Town of Bassendean while the proportion of couples without children was 25.9% compared to 24.4% in the Town of Bassendean.
